Julia Blake’s Second Murder Mystery
Julia’s neighbour, Leo Kennedy, is having restoration work done to his house. He’s managed to upset neighbours and builders in the short time that he has lived there.
One night, Julia hears the sound of something breaking next door. She goes to investigate and finds Leo dead in his front room. It looks like he’s been murdered.
When DI Clarke asks if Leo Kennedy had any enemies Julia has to tell him that Leo had many.
But who would hate Leo enough to kill him? And for what reason?

Builders next door at Cora Roberts old house are making so much noise, they wake Julia up. Not a good way to start the day. Julia then bumps into Cora at the supermarket. Sensing something isn't quite as it should be, Julia offers to give Cora a lift home. Why is her new home such a mess when Cora used to be so house proud? Julia cancels her appointments for the day and gets to work helping Cora.The murder doesn't happen until the end of Chapter 6. Leo Kennedy, the new next door neighbor, is dead and it's murder! Was it the builder he just fired? How about Cora's son or the shifty council man always ready to take a bribe? How does Julia help?
The second book in the series, this very short murder mystery keeps you guessing and has a surprise ending. It is an easy, quick read and simply written so good for the YA (Young Adults) genre also. Clean with no sex and the only "bad" language is 'sod' and 'hell' both used once. If you are looking for a quick read with your feet up for a few minutes then this is a good choice. Thanks, Liz

This series is a fast paced fun read. I've read the series and have started to re read them . Great set for fall since our beach days will be ending soon.
I really liked the story. It was just too short. I know these are supposed to be short stories, but it still left me hoping for more.

This book was short. There were many typos. I doubt I will read any more in this series. I will find other books to read.
A very good read with a surprise twist. I won't spoil it by giving away the plot but there's several in here you could learn to hate and only one worthy of your love.
This was a good story but way too short! I hope this writer has written other books that are longer. The story was just getting interesting AND then came to an abrupt ending!
I usually don't read these short mysteries. I wanted a quick read, so I chose this. I liked it very well. I was finished with it before I could decide who the culprit was.
The characters were very believable. Julia was spunky, but she did some stupid things. Cora was a sweet little old lady; unfortunately, her son was just plain selfish. Leo was a mean spirited man; I could just visualize the arguments. I like how the ending was neatly wrapped up.
I would read more by this author.
